Insurance for Real Estate Agents
Filed under Real EstateDec 24If you are considering a career change and are leaning toward work in the real estate field, then you may be wondering if being a real estate agent would be a good choice for yourself. Real estate agents can in fact find that their jobs can be very rewarding. There are many reasons that someone may choose to begin their real estate career. Some individuals choose the field because you are basically your own boss and set your own schedules. Others choose to be a real estate agent because they see helping others find the house of their dreams a heartwarming job to have and yet others enter the field in hopes that they will be able to sell top market homes which will in turn fill their pockets full of money.
There are many advantages to being a real estate agent, but there are also pitfalls of the business too. The first is that your income is never guaranteed. If you are not able to sell a house, then you do not make commission and that means no paycheck. You may go months without making a sell and this means that when a sell is made that you have to budget and plan what you spend. A second pitfall is that as an agent you can be sued by homeowners for various reasons. One such reason is when an error occurs during a real estate transaction which results in the loss of money. Keep this in mind if you do enter the real estate field as you will need to obtain insurance for real estate agents which is otherwise known as e&o insurance. You will definitely want to inquire about e&o coverage if you do enter the field so that your best interests are protected.
